It’s very important to me that my work is affordable for everyone.

Pricing varies depending on the type of work; a sale of work already created, teaching, a commission, an event and also the complexity of the work involved and therefore the time it takes to complete.

The rate is standardised across the board as it’s about my time and current level of expertise.

Size, media, surface and subject matter don’t affect pricing really on this basis:

SALES I produce varied work each week as part of my practise and in order to keep my skill set honed, so this is pretty much all for sale and affordable; Generally studio work is between £50 up to £500

EVENTS For working at your event generally £50 covers materials and travel and £200 for the day.

WEDDING work is on this daily rate too but it also spills over into the commission side as I would normally then be completing the painting back at the studio: Wedding paintings are completed within a 4 week timeframe so I have time to organise the printing of your thank you cards too if required.

WORKSHOPS for teaching I charge the same, £250 daily rate, inclusive.

COMMISSIONS For bespoke it is costed around the time it takes me to create it, at the same rate:

I keep notes on all time spent actually working, into half days or hour blocks: half day is 3 hours actual work time; I generally have 3 days a week in the studio of 8 hours but there are breaks.

I like to work on a number of things at once so this keeps it clear for everyone.

I make Timelapse videos of work in process and this also shows you the time it takes to create.

There’s an initial consultation and then a face to face meeting where we discuss and agree initial aspects including budget with a deposit at that point.

This covers the consultation, research time, drawings and a study for your approval before starting the final piece.

There’s also communication and ongoing consultation for your agreement/approval during the main work with imagery available, though I find clients do tend to prefer having the timelapses once they’ve enjoyed the surprise of seeing the completed painting.

Payment is staggered into 3, 4 or more;  an upfront deposit, when I’m ready to start the main piece, on completion and then remittance on delivery; though it can be by monthly instalment.
